FIRST, (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), is a unique varsity sport of the mind that demands a multi-faceted team of students, who manage both the technical and non-technical challenges in the competition. FIRST Robotics Team 1708, Amp’d Robotics of McKeesport Area High School is participating in its 9th year of competition.  The team partners high school students with industry professionals who must work together to solve real-life problems in engineering, computer automation, graphic design, business and marketing, among many skills. Our team has now spread what we have learned to the middle school, which now has a junior program.
